Hi everyone,
I'm sorry I didn't get a blog post out on Saturday. I'll admit, I was slacking off and having fun at the aquarium, and by the time I woke up, the weekend was over.
I'm making up for it now with a mid-week post. Unfortunately, we've been hit hard by the winter storms that covered the country this week. On Tuesday night, our neighbor's apple tree split in half under the weight of the ice and came down on the power lines that lead to our house. We've been without power and water since then.
Wednesday morning we packed up all the pets, even poor Alvin the fish, and moved into my brother's house. Now we're camping out on couches and getting by as best we can until power can be restored to the house.
My internet access is limited, and once we can get back to the house, I don't know how long it is going to take for the cable to be repaired. I may be without the internet for a while. If there's no new post on Saturday, it means I'm probably back home with a broken internet cable.
As of right now, we're safe, clean and warm, so keep those in your thoughts who aren't as lucky.

Wow Jess. I hope everything turns out okay. This winter is really bad for lots of people. I live in the NE but so far no loss of power. Good luck.
That storm is giving friends from Texas (an old classmate) to Maine (a gal from a usenet newsgroup and LiveJournal). I'm sorry to hear you're caught in it too. {sympathetic smile}
I'm sorry you lost power, and extremely glad you didn't lose anything harder to replace. I hope your family is past the worst of this already. {Smile}
