Hi everyone,
Next week I'll have a really fun butterfly post. I just watched the monarch in my aquarium come out of his chrysalis. His wings are drying right now. I'll tell you all about that, and some of the other butterflies hatching in the garden, on Saturday, but right now I wanted to continue my thoughts from last week.
Aside from the Speak Loudly post, last week I was talking about the big dreams and fantasies that kept me going while writing my latest novel.
I thought it would be good to bring it back down to reality a little this week, and let you know what I actually hope and dream. These are the things I believe could happen.
I believe this book will sell. It makes me feel great just to have faith in that much. I honestly believe this book has a chance.
Hopefully I can land a contract that will support my promotional efforts. That would be awesome.
I like to think I could eventually get a RITA nomination. It is a monumental task to get five random people to love something that you have written, but here's to hoping.
Since this is a Young Adult novel, I'm looking forward to doing programs at schools. I used to teach, and I would love that. Of all the things I look forward to doing, I look forward to that the most. I'd like to take part of the day to talk with special students who are interested in writing.
So, here's to the future. Let's hope good things are coming.
Happy reading,
Jess

Your next novel is YA? Oh good. I'm particularly fond of YAs. What's it about? {Smile}
Anne Elizabeth Baldwin
It's about a girl in Victorian London whose family's clock shop burned down, leaving her alone and destitute. She takes a position as a maid in the strange house of a reclusive baron. There she discovers a secret society of inventors, a conspiracy of murder, and that she holds the key to it all.
Just wanted to thank you for the book I won and just received in the mail from Anya Bast's contest earlier this month. Thank you, and when I post a review I will let you know.
I hope you enjoy it Rory, and I'm glad it got there safely.
