Hi everyone,
I've just done the craziest thing in my writing career. I wrote an entire book in just under three months. That is half the time I usually take, and not because I spent half the time on it, but because I got half the sleep I needed for three months.
It was grueling, and I don't know how other writers who keep that pace book after book do it.
Only one thing kept me moderately sane.
My list of things I'd do if the book sold for millions of dollars.
Sometimes it's the little things that keep you going. After all, there's no possible way the book could sell for millions of dollars if it wasn't written. Now it is, and the dreams are officially alive.
So here is my list of crazy dreams. Next week, I'll write out my list of honest hopes.
#1 Have it hit number one on the NYT list, then petition Dancing With the Stars to be on the show.
Wouldn't that be awesome!!!! Sometimes I sit around and fantasize about who I'd be paired up with. I'm not the most coordinated person, but I would LOVE that chance. Just Wow.
#2 Move to a huge house out in the country that has a barn for my pretty new Morgan horse, complete with a lovely spot for a butterfly garden.
#3 Go on a luxurious spa retreat where I'm pampered from head to toe for at least four days.
#4 Take my family and my critique partner's family on a week long Walt Disney World extravaganza. We'd have a blast, and she totally deserves it.
#5 Hire staff, at least a personal assistant, accountant, and a nanny. Lawn service and a housekeeper/cook would be awesome too.
So that's my short list.
Keep your fingers crossed. It never hurts to dream big, right?
Until then, happy reading!

Jeez, three months??? Well i hope it gets you lots and lots of money. I most definitely read and love your books and i wish i had a million dollars to give you for them! i have not been to walt disney since 9th grade, but i want my kids to be a little older. Spa retreat...most definitely sounds awesome. Butterfly garden is a must for the butterfly blog. I would love to hire someone to clean my house....
There you go, aside from the Dancing With the Stars thing, I'm being very practical.
And thanks. :)
I'm very impressed with your stamina. {Smile}
I can't help thinking... I don't think there's any way I could write that much that quickly. Or miss that much sleep, either. My body is pretty strict about getting enough rest. {resigned Smile}
